“Standards of Care” Can Help Diabetes Patients

POLSON — People diagnosed with diabetes can achieve a normal life if they adopt “Standards of care,” as promoted at Tribal Health Department’s annual Diabetes Care Day. Interactive booth displays featuring topics in healthy eating, exercise, foot care, and prescription management educated guests on health care standards required to prevent or manage diabetes.

“Taking care of your health is so important,” said diabetes education nurse Angela Nicolai RN. “Knowing how to take care of yourself is empowering and we wanted to let the community know that there’s support out there to help them do that.”
