Starting Monday, March 22, more of us in Alabama will be eligible to get vaccinated for COVID-19. Alabama is now going to include all people in phase 1-C which includes people who are 55 years old and up. State health officials say the move to 1-C will allow between half and two-thirds of all the adults in the state to be vaccinated. Even the National Guard will help with the statewide effort in rural areas.
Whether it’s a mass vaccination clinic or by appointment Alabama’s vaccine allotment for next week is impressive.
“At this point, our number of first doses that we’re expecting this week is going to be between 110,000 and 120,000 doses,” said Dr. Scott Harris with the Alabama Department of Public Health.
