Facing a multimillion-dollar budget shortfall, Thomas Nelson Community College announced it will lay off 45 employees at the end of the year.
In a college-wide email, President John Dever wrote Thursday that the college needs to cut $1.8 million from its roughly $33-million personnel budget this fiscal year to get a balanced budget. In fiscal year 2021, it needs to cut $3.6 million.
