In 2008, the University of Nebraska Board of Regents made a new medical center College of Nursing building in Lincoln its legislative priority.
Then a deep recession took hold, and NU shelved the plans for a modern nursing training facility.
Nearly a decade later, the program statement has been dusted off and the $20 million project is scheduled for 2017 near 19th and S streets.
