Calvin University is planning to launch a health sciences school thanks to a $15 million gift from an unnamed alumni donor.
The donation will help the university renovate some of its campus facilities into state-of-the-art laboratories for the new School of Health, according to a Calvin news release.
The university plans to repurpose the former West Michigan Regional Lab, located in the DeVries Hall of Science, to include a new cadaver lab for teaching human anatomy and new virtual dissection tables for students who aren’t enrolled in traditional semester-long courses, Calvin Provost Noah Toly said.
